April report

Monday, April 11th, 2011

The munch went off fabulously! People came from far away and nearby and made new friends and talked about things they’ve never admitted an interest in before. We talked about trucks and traffic, diaper brands, coming out and upcoming events. It made my day when someone said “You guys ARE my friends!”

Our usual teddy bear host was traveling so Mr. Lefty worked as a stand-in. He’d had a couple drinks and didn’t participate in the discussion otherwise. But, he did his hosting duty, letting first timers know, without asking, that they were in the right place.

Oops! Your NC Munch Organizers forgot all about adding a recap for February and March. We’ll be back with more recaps soon.

Our March Munch RECAP

Monday, March 14th, 2011

This month we had a GREAT time at the MUNCH. We went to Baby A’s and than had a movie night at our house. We had 16 people turn up at Baby A’s including 3 new people. When we went back to our house we watched MegaMind, got into comfortable jammies and popped pop corn. We had 1 more new person show up at the movie night for a total of 4 new people this month…… SO EXCITED. I love everyone getting together. Next month will be the one year anniversary to our MUNCH’s. If you haven’t came out yet. April willbe the perfect time. Help us celebrate our One year Anniversary.

January 2011 Munch Recap

Saturday, January 22nd, 2011

What a fun munch we had today! A big enough crowd (including all the NC Munch Organizers) that we almost didn’t have enough tables. Thanks to DM and T for coming all the way from Charlotte to munch with us, and welcome to new munchers K and J. As always we are happy to see our “regulars” too!

After we ate we headed over to Gate City Lanes to bowl for an hour, which was great, even if none of us are exactly bowling champs.ร‚ย  I think we’ll definitely be bowling again sometime! It was a bit warm in the alley, leading us to have to go for ice cream afterwards. ๐Ÿ™‚

All in all it was a lovely munch day and I hope future munches are as fun. Please stay tuned for information on a special Raleigh-area munch hosted by Sleepy on Sat, Feb 12th and calendar our regular Greensboro munch which will be Sat, Feb 26th.

December 2010 Munch Recap

Wednesday, December 29th, 2010

Thanks to Z for braving the cold to come munch with Justin and myself at our December munch. I hope that the special date did not put anyone off and folks were just busy shopping or pre-holiday shenanigans.

Hope to see lots of munchers at our next munch on January 22! We are planning to go bowling afterwards.

May 2010 Munch Recap

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

Skippy the stuffed Zebra says:
I was a little lonely (or a lonely little?) at the May munch on the 22nd. I hope lots of munchers show up next month (June 26th) to keep me company and color some pictures.

Since it was just a small handful of us munchers, we didn’t stay long this month. It was a very nice day out, and the ice cream parlor was calling our names (and our wallets).

As always, if you have a theme or activity idea for June, please send us an e-mail!

April 2010 Munch Recap

Sunday, April 25th, 2010

Thanks to all who came out to join Justin and me at the April Munch on the 24th. We had some good discussions about ageplay and kink. Several munchers took home an easter/springtime themed sippy cup to decorate and keep.

We’re looking forward to the May munch (Sat., May 22) and hope to see lots of regular and/or new munchers there! If you have ideas for an after-munch activity, please drop us a line.

April 2010 Recap

Sunday, April 18th, 2010

Despite plumes of pollen and lots of activities going on in town, 18 fun folks made it out to this month’s munch. We also had a quick drive by from a regular who had other business in town that day. ๐Ÿ™‚

In addition to the regular diner food, one of the munchers was kind enough to bring cookies that looked like like little hamburgers. They were super yummy. The discussion seemed to revolve around a number of topics.Chief among them was the great time some folks had at Frolicon and ideas for the next Littles party planned for this Summer.

After the munch, some of us headed out to Stone Mountain to the Yellow River Game Ranch. If you’ve never been, I highly recommend checking it out. It’s like a petting zoo on steroids. Not only will you see the usual chickens, sheep, goats, and donkeys, along the trail you’ll also encounter bears, dear, ducks, cougars, buffalo, and bunnies! This is the second year we’ve visited.

The only downside was that they were caught up in the flooding last year. As a result, the place was considerably less wheelchair friendly than it had been. That made things considerable tougher on one of our muchers. Still, we made it work and had a great time.

March 2010 Recap

Sunday, March 21st, 2010

I just have to give a great big thank you to everyone that came out this month to make the munch and the play party one of the most amazing events I’ve ever attended in Atlanta! It was seriously incredible and fun. And we really had a beautiful day for it too.

It all got started the munch. I arrived early to the diner for the newbie meet to find one couple already waiting for things to get started. They were kind enough to help me get a few tables setup up. Since RSVPs aren’t required for the munch, you never know exactly how many folks will be there from month to month. We had 23 last month, so I setup places for 25. So much for planning aheadรขโ‚ฌยฆ

With the corner we have in the diner, our crew usually usually sets up the tables in an “L” shape. As the regular munch time came people started arriving, the “L” kept getting longer and longer. And for the first time ever, we formed the tables into a “U.” And the “U” got bigger too. We started having to bring over tables from other booths in the restaurant. There were seriously a lot of great people to hug! ๐Ÿ™‚

At totaled the munch was pushing about 40 people. It was a wonderful sight to witness with DLs, abys, school kid, teenz, mediums, bigs, and a couple of curious people that wanted to learn more about age play. Everyone was coloring, eating, and talking together. Celebrating all those things that we have in common and bind us together as friends. My words cant do it justice. I’ll just say that THIS is what the Atlanta Littles Munch is about.

The munch group was still going strong about 3:45 pm, when I decided I needed to leave and get things setup at for the party. Once again, I arrived to find a few folks that left the munch early already waiting at the party. I got the house opened up, and worked on organizing all the yummy treats people brought to share. I’m pretty certain that there is a chopped down field of sugar cane somewhere that would still be standing if it weren’t for all the great stacks people brought to share. ๐Ÿ™‚

Early on in the party, the bigs got together and hid the easter eggs in the back yard for the hunt later. In the mean time the rest of changed into more fun attire, painted crafts, colored, plopped down in puppy piles, watch Ponyo, sang, dances, played games with a silly chicken-like balloon, and enjoyed each other’s company. Later lots of us littles paired up and we hunted the eggs.

As the sun set and the sugar rushes began to become sugar crashes, we rounded out the evening with some face painting and settling in to watch Disney’s The Princess and the Frog. Then many more hugs as folks had to leave.

I think I need a whole other Saturday to recover from all the fun we had this weekend. It was serious so very fantastic. Thanks again to all of you that came out and made it so special.

The next Atlanta Littles Munch is Saturday, April 17th. The after-munch field trip is yet to be determined.
