August 2010 Munch Recap

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

What a nicely sized crowd we had on the 28th! Thanks to S for coming to visit us from Raleigh, we have missed your presence at the munch – and good luck with your talk in December, and thanks P for munching even if you weren’t feeling that well.

Everyone was very happy to see Justin and Maya’s vacation pictures and we all had a great time ooh and aah-ing at the sights. Also, If anyone is looking for a fun littles movie, Nanny McPhee Returns was very cute and I recommend taking your Big to see it with you, plenty of jokes for the adults too.

As always, if any munchers have suggestions for future munch themes, field trips or activities, please e-mail us at the addresses above!

July 2010 Munch Recap

Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010

Apologies to anyone that we may have missed at the July munch. Pene left a little bit on the early side to go attend to a sick puppy at home.
I hope more folks will show up to our August munch on the 28th. As usual, theme/activity ideas should be e-mailed to us at the addresses above!

June 2010 Munch Recap

Friday, July 2nd, 2010

What a GREAT munch! It was so fun to meet all the new munchers that came out on June 26th. As the munchers started piling in, we kept having to add more tables. We had some fun conversations going on across the tables and some really spiff coloring art was made.

- Special thanks to those who drove in from other parts of NC to come munch with us, we love to see your smiling faces. Please visit again soon!
- An awesome idea was hatched to display some of the best muncher art on the website. Justin and I will be working on some way to make that happen so that our virtual refrigerator can draw oohs and ahhs.

I hope to see lots of you again in July, our munch will be July 24. If you have any ideas for themes, activities or after-munch field trips, please e-mail us!

May 2010 Recap

Monday, June 14th, 2010

Just a quickie update for the May munch. This munch was another smaller crowd with about 14 folks. It was great to see some former regulars that hadn’t been able to make it out in a while.

After the munch, we decided to take advantage of the great Spring weather and head out to Piedmont Park were we played card games, drank yummy lemonade, and threw the frisbee around. (One of the puppy babyfurs seems particularly excited about the frisbee. *giggle*)

Thanks again to all that made it out and continue to make this munch such an amazing time.

May 2010 Munch Recap

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

Skippy the stuffed Zebra says:
I was a little lonely (or a lonely little?) at the May munch on the 22nd. I hope lots of munchers show up next month (June 26th) to keep me company and color some pictures.

Since it was just a small handful of us munchers, we didn’t stay long this month. It was a very nice day out, and the ice cream parlor was calling our names (and our wallets).

As always, if you have a theme or activity idea for June, please send us an e-mail!

April 2010 Munch Recap

Sunday, April 25th, 2010

Thanks to all who came out to join Justin and me at the April Munch on the 24th. We had some good discussions about ageplay and kink. Several munchers took home an easter/springtime themed sippy cup to decorate and keep.

We’re looking forward to the May munch (Sat., May 22) and hope to see lots of regular and/or new munchers there! If you have ideas for an after-munch activity, please drop us a line.

April 2010 Recap

Sunday, April 18th, 2010

Despite plumes of pollen and lots of activities going on in town, 18 fun folks made it out to this month’s munch. We also had a quick drive by from a regular who had other business in town that day. :)

In addition to the regular diner food, one of the munchers was kind enough to bring cookies that looked like like little hamburgers. They were super yummy. The discussion seemed to revolve around a number of topics.Chief among them was the great time some folks had at Frolicon and ideas for the next Littles party planned for this Summer.

After the munch, some of us headed out to Stone Mountain to the Yellow River Game Ranch. If you’ve never been, I highly recommend checking it out. It’s like a petting zoo on steroids. Not only will you see the usual chickens, sheep, goats, and donkeys, along the trail you’ll also encounter bears, dear, ducks, cougars, buffalo, and bunnies! This is the second year we’ve visited.

The only downside was that they were caught up in the flooding last year. As a result, the place was considerably less wheelchair friendly than it had been. That made things considerable tougher on one of our muchers. Still, we made it work and had a great time.

March 2010 Recap

Sunday, March 21st, 2010

I just have to give a great big thank you to everyone that came out this month to make the munch and the play party one of the most amazing events I’ve ever attended in Atlanta! It was seriously incredible and fun. And we really had a beautiful day for it too.

It all got started the munch. I arrived early to the diner for the newbie meet to find one couple already waiting for things to get started. They were kind enough to help me get a few tables setup up. Since RSVPs aren’t required for the munch, you never know exactly how many folks will be there from month to month. We had 23 last month, so I setup places for 25. So much for planning ahead…

With the corner we have in the diner, our crew usually usually sets up the tables in an “L” shape. As the regular munch time came people started arriving, the “L” kept getting longer and longer. And for the first time ever, we formed the tables into a “U.” And the “U” got bigger too. We started having to bring over tables from other booths in the restaurant. There were seriously a lot of great people to hug! :)

At totaled the munch was pushing about 40 people. It was a wonderful sight to witness with DLs, abys, school kid, teenz, mediums, bigs, and a couple of curious people that wanted to learn more about age play. Everyone was coloring, eating, and talking together. Celebrating all those things that we have in common and bind us together as friends. My words cant do it justice. I’ll just say that THIS is what the Atlanta Littles Munch is about.

The munch group was still going strong about 3:45 pm, when I decided I needed to leave and get things setup at for the party. Once again, I arrived to find a few folks that left the munch early already waiting at the party. I got the house opened up, and worked on organizing all the yummy treats people brought to share. I’m pretty certain that there is a chopped down field of sugar cane somewhere that would still be standing if it weren’t for all the great stacks people brought to share. :)

Early on in the party, the bigs got together and hid the easter eggs in the back yard for the hunt later. In the mean time the rest of changed into more fun attire, painted crafts, colored, plopped down in puppy piles, watch Ponyo, sang, dances, played games with a silly chicken-like balloon, and enjoyed each other’s company. Later lots of us littles paired up and we hunted the eggs.

As the sun set and the sugar rushes began to become sugar crashes, we rounded out the evening with some face painting and settling in to watch Disney’s The Princess and the Frog. Then many more hugs as folks had to leave.

I think I need a whole other Saturday to recover from all the fun we had this weekend. It was serious so very fantastic. Thanks again to all of you that came out and made it so special.

The next Atlanta Littles Munch is Saturday, April 17th. The after-munch field trip is yet to be determined.

February 2010 Recap

Sunday, February 21st, 2010

It sure seems the littles were anxious to come out and play this month. Tired of staying home in the cold, we packed our corner of the diner with 23 folks this month. By my count, four of those were first-timers. Next month we get to find out if we scared them off. ;)  There was lots of the usual conversation, coloring, and consuming lots of diner food. One of the attendees brought Valentines candy harts for everyone.

Also we had a special visit from one of the coordinators for age play activities at Frolicon this year. She explained the plans for two separate events for littles this year. You learn more about Frolicon here: http://frolicon.net. I’ve been there the last 4 or 5 years running and it’s always a great time for your littles site, grown up side, and geeky side too.

After the munch, several of us headed out for a little bowling. We all bunched up on one lane. It felt like a party with lots more talk, some junk food, and occasionally rolling the ball down the lane. Not to let the evening end too early, we followed the night up with some yummy pizza.

By all accounts a fantastic munch weekend! Thanks so much to everyone that came out.

The next Atlanta Littles Munch is on Saturday, March 20th 2010. Looks like a great time for another Littles Party.

Atlanta Littles Munch – February 09 Recap

Saturday, March 7th, 2009

Not a bad little munch at 13 folks total. I really enjoy munches like this from time to time as it’s easier for everyone to participate in the conversation. And, of course D&B was lots of fun!
